Pune, December 6- 8, 2024 – The third edition of Sakal Swasthyam, Maharashtra’s leading holistic wellness festival, concluded successfully on December 8, 2024. Organised by Sakal Media Group, the three-day event attracted participation from over 25,000 individuals spanning diverse backgrounds – including working professionals, students, senior citizens, and wellness practitioners.
Sakal Swasthyam was created in response to the growing prevalence of mental health concerns, which now impact one in every five individuals globally. The festival aims to address this urgent need by offering an inclusive platform that brings together physical activity, mental health awareness, spiritual practices, and creative expression. The vision behind Swasthyam is to promote a culture of well-being that extends beyond individual health and contributes to building resilient, supportive communities.
This year’s edition offered an integrated experience that combined wellness activities with curated learning spaces, performances, and conversations. Highlights included a walkathon dedicated to senior citizens, a cyclothon open to all, and experiential workshops covering disciplines such as Kalaripayattu, Tai Chi, sound therapy, photography, and Krav Maga. Participants also engaged in Agnihotra – a community ritual for purification and harmony-conducted with over a thousand people in attendance.
In addition to hands-on experiences, the festival also featured a series of talks, seminars, and panel discussions led by some of India’s most recognised voices in wellness, spirituality, and the arts. Thought leaders such as Sri M, Jaya Kishori, Sanjeev Kapoor, Luke Coutinho, Akshat Gupta, Raghu Rai, and Neelesh Misra addressed topics ranging from spiritual well-being and emotional resilience to food consciousness and storytelling as a healing tool.
Cultural programming played a key role in deepening audience engagement. The festival hosted large-format evening concerts that drew over 10,000 attendees, with performances by Niladri Kumar, Swanand Kirkire, and Javed Ali, creating an immersive atmosphere that blended creativity with consciousness. A parallel wellness exhibition showcased more than 100 exhibitors offering services, products, and resources in the wellness and lifestyle space.
The core objective of Swasthyam remains rooted in promoting mind-body harmony through accessible and meaningful experiences. It aims to create a space where well-being is not viewed in isolation but as a collective pursuit – embracing inclusivity, diversity, and self-awareness. The event structure was designed to engage citizens across generations, from IT professionals to students and senior citizens, reinforcing Sakal Media Group’s commitment to building platforms that serve the evolving needs of society.
The 2024 edition built on the momentum of previous years, deepening its reach and broadening its scope. With more than 25,000 participants and measurable engagement across digital platforms, the festival continues to strengthen its position as a leader in the wellness space. The dedicated event website, www.globalswasthyam.com, served as an additional touchpoint for audiences seeking updates, registrations, and digital content.
