Pune, November 7, 2024 – Continuing its commitment to fostering cultural experiences that resonate with the community, Sakal Media Group hosted the annual Diwali Pahat event in Pune, bringing together music lovers, families, and artists to celebrate the festive season through a morning of live performances and classical artistry.
Held in alignment with the traditional practice of beginning Diwali with music and community gatherings, Diwali Pahat 2024 featured a carefully curated lineup of renowned musicians and emerging talents. Over the course of three hours, audiences were treated to performances spanning Indian classical, devotional, and fusion genres.
The event witnessed participation from over 1,000 attendees, including Pune residents and visiting guests, all engaging in a shared cultural experience that set the tone for the day’s Diwali festivities.
Celebrating Tradition Through Music
The purpose of the Diwali Pahat event is to enhance the Diwali experience by offering a serene and artistically rich beginning to the celebrations. Inspired by the traditional concept of early morning music gatherings, Sakal Media Group has developed this initiative into a structured, large-format platform that highlights the diversity and depth of Indian music and performing arts.
With 8 to 10 artists and ensembles performing in each edition, the event has grown into a cultural highlight on Pune’s festive calendar. Artists included celebrated classical vocalists, instrumentalists, and collaborative acts, providing a balanced mix of established excellence and fresh perspectives.
Strategic Execution and Community Engagement
Sakal Media Group led all aspects of event planning and promotion—from artist curation and technical execution to audience management and live content production. The event was free and open to the public, reflecting the Group’s vision of accessible and inclusive cultural programming.
This year’s edition also included interactive elements and community engagement initiatives, reinforcing Sakal’s role not just as a media organisation, but as a catalyst for social and cultural connectivity. The event was covered across Sakal’s print, digital, and social platforms, expanding its reach beyond the physical venue and allowing remote audiences to participate through real-time digital streaming and post-event highlights.
Looking Ahead
Following consistent public response and cultural impact in Pune, plans are in place to expand Diwali Pahat to additional cities in the coming years, building on the format’s success and furthering Sakal Media Group’s investment in community-led programming.
